Respect Choice Board For Google Apps | ||||
When students respect each other they will speak to and get along with friends, parents and teachers much better. If we don't respect others they will not respect us either. This choice board has many activities to help teach this character trait. Defining Respect: Write your own definition of respect. Think of someone who shows respect regularly and describe what they do that makes them respectful. Respecting Differences: Write about a time when you met someone different from you (different culture, belief, or ability). Reflect on how you showed respect for their differences. Respectful Communication: Write about a situation where it’s important to use respectful language, like talking to a teacher or solving a conflict with a friend. Discuss why respectful communication matters. Respecting Property: Write about why it’s important to respect others' belongings and public property. Give examples of how you can show respect in these situations. Respect in Listening: Practice active listening with a partner. Take turns speaking and listening without interrupting. Reflect on how it feels to be truly listened to and how it shows respect. Role Models of Respect: Identify someone in your life who treats others with respect. Write about what they do that shows respect and how it impacts others. Respectful Disagreement: Think of a time when you disagreed with someone. Write about how you can express your opinion respectfully while also respecting theirs. Respect in Teamwork: Write about how you can show respect when working in a group or on a team. Include examples like listening to everyone’s ideas or taking turns speaking. Respect in Action: Write about one thing you can do today to show respect to a classmate, teacher, or family member. Plan how you will put this action into practice. Respecting the Environment: Write about why it’s important to respect the environment. List three ways you can show respect for nature in your daily life. Respectful Words: Write down a list of respectful words or phrases you can use in conversations (like “please,” “thank you,” or “I appreciate your help”). Practice using them throughout the day. Respecting Yourself: Write about how you can show respect for yourself, such as taking care of your body, standing up for your beliefs, or setting healthy boundaries. Respect in Conflict: Think of a conflict you’ve had with someone. Write about how you can handle the situation with respect for yourself and the other person. Respecting Rules: Write about why rules (in the classroom, at home, or in sports) are important to respect. Reflect on how following rules shows respect for others. Acts of Respect: Write down three acts of respect you saw someone do this week (like holding the door open or helping someone). Discuss how these actions made a positive impact. Reflecting on Respect: Think of a time when you were treated with respect. Write about how it made you feel and why it is important to treat others with the same respect. |
