| What is the median? The median refers to the middle of a set of numbers or a set of data. Let's look at the median of this set: 1,3,5,8,10 Start crossing off the numbers on each end until you arrive at the middle. In this case the median is 5. However, let's say you have 6 numbers, or an even set of data or numbers, you will then need to add the two numbers in the middle and divide by 2 to determine the median. Let's try one. The median of 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10. The two numbers in the middle are 5 and 7, add these to numbers to get 12 and divide by 2 to get the median which is 6. | |||||
