Some animals hibernate during the winter. Animals that hibernate can?t find enough food during the cold, long winter. They eat lots of food before they hibernate and it is stored for the winter. Hibernation is like a deep sleep. Frogs or turtles will go to the bottom of the ponds or lakes to hibernate. During hibernation, an animal's breathing and heartbeat will slow down. Animals that hibernate live off of the stored fat from eating lots before they hibernate. |
