| Have your 3rd graders read this story and answer the questions that follow. Once upon a time their was a community called Smile Town where lots of family, friends and animals lived together. Everyone in Smile Town worked to make it a good place to live. They believed in the common good. this means doing things to help everyone not just one person. Families took care of a community garden where they planted flowers and vegetable for everyone to enjoy. Even the animals chipped in by sharing their nuts and berries. One day they had a meeting to decide on a new rule. They would have a special day to clean up the town and make it beautiful for everyone. Families, friends and even animals helped clean up trash, sweep streets and plant flowers. They all worked for the common good to make Smile Town even more beautiful than before. | |||||
