Lab for Eclipses

Eclipses are actually shadows. A solar eclipse will occur when the moon casts its shadow over part of earth which blocks the sun’s light. A lunar eclipse will occur when earth casts its shadow over part of the moon and blocks the sunlight from reaching the moon. This lab demonstrates a solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse. A flashlight, globe or ball, smaller ball and a dark room are what is needed to complete this task. Shining the light on the sun first and then on the moon will give you different results. Follow the instructions on the worksheet. What did you observe and what it the difference in the two eclipses?
